Horace Grant Calls Out Michael Jordan In “Last Dance”

The feud between Horace Grant and Michael Jordan has been around for decades, and it probably will never end. The former teammates turned enemies have publicly expressed their dislike for one another, and the most recent shots came from Horace Grant’s corner.

Grant was a major contributor for the Bulls in their first dynasty when they won 3 straight titles in 1991, ‘92 and ‘93. Jordan often talked in the documentary how Horace was the outcast who always thought he wasn’t given the credit he deserved. Grant went on to join the Orlando Magic who knocked out the Bulls in 1995, the year that Jordan returned from baseball in the middle of the season.

In a radio interview with Kap and Co. on ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Tuesday, Grant said it “is a downright, outright, completely lie” that he leaked much of the information in Sam Smith’s famous “The Jordan Rules” book, as Jordan alleged during the documentary. Here is what he had to say.

“That is a downright, outright, completely lie. Lie, lie, lie. And as I stated, if M.J. had a grudge with me, let’s settle it like men. Let’s talk about it or we can settle it another way. Yet and still, he puts out this lie out that I was the source behind it. Sam and I have always been great friends, we’re still great friends. But the sanctity of that locker room, I would never put anything personal out there. The mere fact that Sam Smith was an investigative reporter, that he had to have two sources — two — to write a book. Why would M.J. just point me out?

It’s only a grudge man, and I think he proved that during the so-called documentary. If you say something about him, he’s gonna cut you off, he’s gonna try to destroy your character. I mean, Charles Barkley, they’ve been friends for over 20, 30 years, and he said something about Michael’s management with the Charlotte Bobcats or Charlotte Hornets, and they haven’t spoken since then.

My point is, he says I was the snitch, but still after 35 years he brings up his rookie year, going into one of his teammates rooms and seeing coke and weed and women. My point is, why did he want to bring that up? What does that got to do with anything? If you want to call somebody a snitch, that’s a damn snitch right there.”

Grant refers to the documentary as a “so called documentary” because he believes Jordan had the last word on the documentary’s content.

It’s a shame two former teammates, who won three world titles together, can’t put their relationship back together. They say time heals all wounds, but in the case of MJ and Horace Grant, it doesn’t sound like there will be healing any time soon.
